Don’t leave the waterside to the end of a pier or pontoon project.

When a pier, pontoon, mooring area or waterfront facility is planned, waterside needs left to the end can mean redesigning later. We give hotels, municipalities, developers and organisations maritime input from concept to operational readiness.

The waterside is defined at concept stage.

What you receive

  • A scope matched to the facility and assignment
  • Mooring, service and equipment requirements for the engineering and design team
  • Assessment and recommendations with operational effects explained
  • Items requiring specialist input and follow-up

Deliverable

Maritime requirements document, equipment options, draft operating and safety procedures

Authority note

Engineering, environmental assessment and formal permits remain the responsibility of authorised specialists and authorities, who are engaged in the process.

Questions to settle before a decision

Water depth, exposure to wind and swell, the size of visiting boats and how often they berth decide where a pier goes and what type it is. We separate early what needs measuring and what needs engineering.

Mooring and service requirements

Which boats will use the facility, how often and for what service determines the mooring layout, the equipment and the safety plan. We define those requirements from an operational point of view and explain the options when marine equipment is selected.

Operation and readiness

We help you set up the facility’s organisation, operating procedures and emergency arrangements, and support commissioning and operational readiness before opening.

Separate specialist responsibilities

Site inspections and specialist assessments are scoped separately where needed. Engineering, environmental assessments and formal approvals remain the responsibility of the relevant specialists and authorities, separately defined from our coordination role.

Questions

Which facilities do you work on?

Piers, pontoons, mooring areas and waterfront facilities, together with the marine services that go with them. Whether you are a hotel, a municipality, a developer or another organisation, share the location and intended use and we can define the scope.

Can you obtain permits or environmental approval?

Formal permits and approvals fall within the responsibilities of the relevant authorities and authorised specialists. We can discuss the coordination needed within the project.
