15 questions

What can NAUTICARES help with?

We work in yacht management and owner representation, marine survey and inspection, maintenance and refit management, newbuilding and project management, marina and shipyard consultancy, agency coordination and operational organisation, coastal and marine facilities consultancy, and maritime training. Each assignment has its own agreed scope.

What if I am unsure which service I need?

Describe the work or decision ahead. Several services may be relevant within one assignment; we can discuss the support needed at the first conversation.

Is NAUTICARES a flag administration, class society or statutory authority?

No. NAUTICARES is an independent consultancy. It is not a flag administration, classification society, recognised organisation (RO) or statutory authority. Where a statutory survey, certificate or approval is required, we provide independent inspection, consultancy, coordination or owner representation and engage the appropriate authorised party.

What is needed for a pre-purchase survey?

Start with the yacht details, location, purchase stage and available documents. Inspection purpose, access, haul-out and any sea trial needs are discussed when defining the scope.

Can you work with our existing captain and team?

We define the assignment alongside the existing team’s responsibilities. Our tasks and the authority to make decisions are clarified at the beginning.

Can you join a refit or new build already under way?

We can review the current stage and documents to discuss the role available. Open work, parties involved and technical questions are useful starting points.

What does marina and shipyard consultancy cover?

It can include defining technical or operational needs, reviewing planning or improvement options and coordinating specialist input. The facility’s situation determines the assignment scope.

Can a municipality, hotel or developer work with you?

Yes. We work with organisations planning piers, pontoons, mooring areas, marinas or coastal facilities, from concept to operational readiness. The location, the intended use and the project stage are a good place to start.

Who handles agency, customs and port formalities?

NAUTICARES does: the paperwork, applications, correspondence and follow-up are ours. Declarations and signatures that require a licence go through authorised agencies in our network, listed on the Agency Coordination page.

Can we discuss work outside Türkiye?

Our primary focus is Türkiye, Greece, the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean. For projects further afield, we bring in the local specialists, yards, classification society, flag administration and agents the work requires. Share the location and dates so we can discuss whether the assignment fits.

Does training provide a formal qualification or certificate?

No. Tailored training does not in itself lead to a formal certificate of competency; those are issued by authorised training institutions. If you need one, we address it at the first meeting.

How are fees and timing agreed?

We discuss fees and timing against the defined work and specialist input needed. Sharing your target date early helps us assess scope and availability.

Do I need to send documents with the first message?

No. The yacht or facility location, a short description and any target date are enough to start. We can identify the relevant documents as the discussion develops.

How does the website enquiry form send my message?

The form opens a draft in your email app using the details you enter. Review the message and send it there. WhatsApp messages are also sent in the application that opens.
