Know what you’re approving in the yard quotation.

The same line item can mean different work in two quotes. NAUTICARES helps define maintenance and refit requirements, compare what quotations include and follow budget, schedule and changes as the work develops.

Quotes are compared against a written scope.

What you receive

  • A work list and specification describing the agreed scope
  • A quotation comparison with open scope questions
  • Progress, budget and schedule status, with questions awaiting a decision
  • A review of completed work, open items and handover information

Authority note

Where a repair needs class or flag approval, the relevant authorised party is engaged; NAUTICARES does not replace that approval.

What sits behind the price

Essential repairs, routine servicing and optional improvements may appear on one list. Priorities can become blurred, and prices are difficult to compare while the work included remains unclear.

Specification and tender

We prepare the work list and the repair or refit specification with you, writing down what each task must resolve and the result expected. Quotations are then requested and compared against that specification, so you can see where price differences come from.

While the work runs

We follow sequencing, budget and schedule with the yard and contractors, carry out quality-control inspections and keep new requirements separate from the original scope. When additional work is proposed, we help you assess its technical need and its effect on the plan.

Know what remains at handover

Commissioning, sea trials and handover are planned from the start. At the end, completed work and open items are reviewed separately, and we agree who follows up each one.

Questions

Do you select the yard?

We can discuss yard and contractor options in relation to the work. Selection and approval responsibilities are defined as part of the assignment.

What happens if new work is found during the refit?

We distinguish it from the initial scope and discuss the technical need and effect on the plan. The process for approving changes is agreed at the beginning.
