Every decision made during the build shows up at delivery.

The yard, the designer and the equipment makers each work on their own detail, and the approvals come to you. From concept to delivery, we stay on the owner’s side, explain the options and follow progress against the specification.

Every approval comes with the information to weigh it.

What you receive

  • A project scope setting out the owner’s requirements and the stages to follow
  • Input on the specification and equipment options
  • Progress, changes and technical decisions explained
  • Review of completed and outstanding work before delivery and acceptance

Authority note

Class approval, statutory inspection and certification remain with the classification society and the flag administration, which are engaged in the process. NAUTICARES provides independent owner-side supervision and does not replace them.

Define the project

A good specification starts with being clear about what you are building and how it will be used. We write down the owner’s requirements with you, prepare the specification or review the designer’s, and explain how equipment choices affect maintenance and operation.

Decisions across different disciplines

To approve an equipment option you need the yard’s cost, the designer’s layout and the maker’s service requirements side by side. We bring them together and chase open questions until they close.

Follow the build from the owner’s side

We follow technical questions between designer and yard, and monitor construction progress and conformity with the specification. Change requests are kept separate from the original scope, and choices needing your approval come with the information to assess them.

Trials and delivery

We attend commissioning and trials, and review completed work and open items with you before delivery and acceptance. The responsibilities of the yard, the designer and authorised bodies such as the classification society are defined separately; formal approvals remain theirs.

Questions

We haven’t chosen a yard yet. Can you help at this stage?

Yes. Project definition, the owner’s requirements and the specification belong to this stage. We can review designer and yard options with you on that basis.

Can you join after construction has started?

We can review the current stage and available documents to establish what role is possible. Tell us the yard, project status and questions you want us to follow up.

Does supervision take over the yard’s responsibilities?

No. Our owner-side role and the responsibilities of the yard, designer and other parties are defined separately. Class approval and formal inspections are carried out by the authorised body.
